Craft for China
We were recently given the opportunity to help with a great cause called “Love Without Boundries.” Love Without Boundaries http://www.lovewithoutboundaries.com is a worldwide group of volunteers who have realized that people with a pure love for helping children can truly make a difference. Their daily mission is to brighten the lives of orphaned and impoverished children in China.
Melissa Robertson is a really remarkable college girl who was moved to do something for these orphans, but being a bit of a starving student, she had to get creative. Last year she had an idea to gather some fellow crafters together who would each be responsible for donating a handmade item, and then hold a special eBay auction with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the orphans. She called it Craft for China. A small handful of artists participated, and enough money (over $600) was raised to sponsor two children, Emma & Gracie.
I am really excited to be included this year. Melissa keeps a blog about the girls with the photos and updates she receives about them.
You can read her blog here: http://craftforchina.wordpress.com
Here's what we're going to do for this year's auction: we will create a special GRACE dress in honor of Gracie. We will donate one dress to the auction, and we will also keep the Grace dress in our line with $8 from every sale donated to help keep Gracie in school. The dress will be available in sizes Newborn – 2.
Donations will be tracked here. You can find the link under 'Places to Visit' in the upper left hand corner. When you click this link, you will also lnotice a link Melissa’s Craft for China site if you’d like to monetarily donate.
Please spread the word of this great cause to help Melissa in her valiant efforts. Wouldn’t it be great to raise funds to sponsor several more children, and keep Gracie and Emma cared for!

When patterns go bad
I have been working on a custom ordered knit hat and mitten set. The hat is complete and cute but the mitten...it looks like it belongs on an elf. The top is all pointy.
Disappointing to say the least.
I will post pictures tomorrow but MAN this is not a cute mitten.
That's what I get for picking a pattern without a picture.
